    Kim Wilkerson is admitted as a Barrister & Attorney in England & Wales and Bermuda and is a qualified Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She is employed as a Senior Vice President and Regional Head of Claims for XL Catlin’s Insurance operations in Bermuda. Kim previously served as General Counsel of XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd.  

    She has 30 years of experience in the international insurance industry, including 15 years in the brokerage area. In addition to holding the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation, Kim is a Contributing Author to “The Law of Reinsurance in England & Wales” 2nd & 3rd Editions. She has written articles for Bermuda insurance, and international legal publications and has spoken at industry events such as RIMS, the Bermuda Captive Conference and the Falconbury Conference. She is strong proponent of the value proposition of Bermuda as the premier jurisdiction to respond to the complex risk needs of global clients. 

    A product of the Bermuda public school system, Kim attended Paget Primary, the Berkeley Institute and the Bermuda College before winning a scholarship to The College of Insurance (St. John’s University School of Risk Management) in New York where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree concentrating in Property/Casualty Insurance. She completed her legal studies in the UK, obtaining an LLB from the University of Buckingham and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School. 

    Kim was appointed to the Bermuda Board of Education in 2011, and served as its Deputy Chair until 2015.  She is the Chairperson of PRIDE Bermuda, which is an internationally accredited non-profit organization providing drug prevention and life skills education for children. 

    Kim also serves on the Board of Governors for the Cap-A-Laige Trust. She was appointed a Justice of the Peace by His Excellency the Governor of Bermuda in November 2008. 

    In 2014, Kim was one of 25 women selected out of more than 400 industry professionals nominated from around the world to receive Business Insurance magazine’s ‘Women to Watch’ award. 

    Kim is grateful for the opportunity to serve Bermuda as a member of the Senate.
