• Speeches

There are no formal speeches in the Senate. Speeches that are presented in the House of Assembly are normally considered in the Senate, which is in the form of a debate.

The Throne Speech which is proclaimed in November as Parliament reconvenes, is debated in the Senate, on the second day of meeting. When the Governor reconvenes parliament this is know as the first meeting of the Senate.

The other momentous speech is the considerations of the budget speech, this is debated in both Houses.
